Eriksen taken to hospital after collapsing at Euro 2020

Some of Christian Eriksen’s teammates broke down in tears

There was no immediate word on Eriksen's condition.

"Christian Eriksen is awake and is undergoing further examinations at Rigshospitalet", the Danish federation wrote on Twitter.

The UEFA Euro 2020 account tweeted: "Following the medical emergency involving Denmark's player Christian Eriksen, a crisis meeting has taken place with both teams and match officials and further information will be communicated shortly".

The Danish FA said Eriksen is awake and waiting more tests in hospital.

However, Finland striker Joel Pohjanpalo popped up against the run of play to head the victor on the hour with his side's only attempt of the game before celebrating in a restrained fashion on the side of the field where Eriksen had collapsed.

A horrifying scene unfolded at the Euro 2020 on Saturday during the match between Denmark and Finland.

Democrats Demand Investigation of Trump-Era Seizure of Lawmakers' Data
Ranking Senate Judiciary Committee member Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), said Friday he supports the IG's investigation into the matter. The records do not contain any other content from the devices, like photos, messages or emails, one of the other people said.

Medical staff were seen doing intense resuscitation procedures for several minutes as his visibly upset Danish team-mates circled the medical staff while the 29-year-old was beating attended to. The Finland players and staff are visibly anxious, too.

The Denmark midfielder received the ball and fell head over heels into the pitch, which instantly caused referee Anthony Taylor to signal for the medical team to come on.

As the Danes trudged dejectedly off the field, the Finnish players celebrated with their ecstatic fans, but ultimately it was a night when football did not matter with Eriksen being treated at a hospital about one kilometre away.

Amazingly the game will be finished tonight with the match set to resume at 19:30 GMT.

Players on the field and fans in the stands looked distraught during the ordeal with fans attempting to rally in applause to support the player, but it would quickly die down as the concern grew.
