No deaths were registered in the last 24-hours. Health officials had no new coronavirus-related fatalities to announce on Tuesday.

Vaccinations were up slightly yesterday, with a total of 53,173 jabs in arms, with 41,905 of those doses going to unvaccinated people, while 11,268 others received a second dose of vaccine.

There are 249 people in hospital with COVID-19, including 78 in intensive care - the lowest number of patients in hospital since March 9.

The Hawai'i Department of Health reported 56 new cases of coronavirus Tuesday. "One part of me, of course, is pleased that we are making progress", Dr. Bonnie Henry said, noting the dramatic decline in cases and the steady pace of immunization.

"NACI confirmed the safety and effectiveness of interchanging vaccines and reaffirmed the recommendation to prioritize second doses for those at highest risk of severe illness and death", Henry and Dix said.

We were not-during that first phase of the investigation, there was not access to data, there was not information provided. China's foreign ministry spokesman, Zhao Lijian, said the claims in the USA intelleigence report were "completely untrue".

The second dose total is now 191,222.

The province recently shortened the interval between doses to eight weeks for most vaccine recipients, and on Thursday the government is scheduled to unveil more information on the options available to those who received AstraZeneca as their first dose.

According to B.C.'s top doctor, one person who died was in their 40s, two people were in their 60s, six people were in their 70s and two people were over 80.

"Building on the plan for second doses of mRNA vaccines shared last week, this latest guidance will help inform the approach we take here in B.C". "New strains are circulating and outbreaks are still occurring in schools, in hospitals, in long-term care and in our communities", Henry said.

Henry and Dix have urged the public to continue following the remaining restrictions and using their "layers of protection", which includes wearing masks, staying home when sick, and getting tested for COVID-19 when symptomatic.
