The CDC has said it will continue to update guidance about how to socialize, travel and return to workplaces as more Americans get vaccinated.
And, during Friday's White House briefing, CDC Director Rochelle Walensky, MD, MPH, said it would be better if vaccinated people stayed home. It added that vaccinated people returning to the United States do not need to self-quarantine unless it is required by state or local authorities.
Khan said the update reinforces the safety and effectiveness of the vaccines, and is another incentive for people to get vaccinated.
According to the state's travel advisory, all travelers should get tested one to three days before starting their journeys, and nonessential travelers should get tested three to five days upon arrival into California and self-quarantine for a full seven days after travel, even if their test is negative. A person is considered fully vaccinated two weeks after receiving the last required dose of vaccine.
According to Reuters, the CDC's new guidance says fully vaccinated people would only need the Covid-19 test before worldwide travel if it is required by the global destination. The CDC does note, however, that Americans still need to follow the guidelines set by other countries for global travel, including testing or quarantining.
Rep. Matt Gaetz facing sex trafficking probe
The person could not publicly discuss the details of an ongoing investigation and spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity. Asked if he would take any action against Gaetz , such as removing him from the Judiciary Committee as Rep.
CDC also said those who are not fully vaccinated should avoid non-essential domestic travel. "And so our update on this is really only for those who are vaccinated, and that represents about 20% of the adult population".
The agency's guidance, released in March, says people who have been fully vaccinated can meet indoors without masks.
Walensky acknowledged that it is confusing to hear messages both about what vaccinated can do and the CDC asking people not to do them because of the concerning increase in the number of COVID-19 cases among unvaccinated people.
Until then, there remain some precautions fully vaccinated people should take in public, including wearing masks, keeping a social distance and avoiding crowds.
The CDC did not revise guidance for non-vaccinated people.
