Rush Limbaugh, known for his conservative radio show, passed away on Wednesday, his wife confirmed.

'I know that I am most certainly not the Limbaugh that you tuned in to listen to today, ' Kathryn told his viewers.

It is with great sadness to inform you that Rush Limbaugh passed away today, April 17 after a long and courageous battle with lung cancer.

The day after revealing he had cancer, Limbaugh was invited by President Trump to attend his State of the Union where he was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

Limbaugh had been absent from his show for the last two weeks as he received cancer treatment.

'I wasn't expected to be alive today, ' he said.
