Ontario confirmed its first case of the Brazilian variant of COVID-19 on Saturday, adding to the three South African variant cases and hundreds of cases of the United Kingdom variant already reported in the province.
Ontario is also reporting that Ottawa has seen a total of seven cases of the B.1.1.7 COVID-19 variant and one case of the B.1.351 variant, up from five cases and one case, respectively, on Saturday.
Provincial health officials say 981 new cases have been reported, a decrease from the 1,300 cases the previous day.
Public Health Ontario has reported 945 new cases of COVID-19 today (Feb. 11), which is the lowest daily report since October 30.
Health Minister Christine Elliott reports 361 cases are from Toronto, 201 are from Peel, and 122 from York.
In the Ministry of Health's latest epidemiological summary, it says case counts from TPH "may fluctuate" due to the data transition.
NRPH reports 21 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, as the active numbers of the infection continues to fall across Niagara.
On Saturday, Toronto logged 433 new cases of the novel coronavirus, while Peel recorded 253 and York reported 116.
There will be no update provided by the province tomorrow due to the Family Day holiday.
There are now 705 patients hospitalized with COVID-19, of which 292 are in intensive care units.

Elliott said almost 58,800 tests were completed and 456,947 doses of the COVID-19 vaccines have been administered.
Overall, there have been 275,880 cases in the province.
More than 165,000 people have been fully vaccinated, having received two doses of vaccine, which are to be given a few weeks apart.
"Ontario is gradually transitioning public health regions into a revised and strengthened COVID-19 Response Framework", Elliott tweeted.
