Vice President Kamala Harris talks 'Rescue Plan,' COVID next steps in exclusive interview with ABC15

Joe Manchin is a "key partner" for the administration after Vice President Harris made appeared on a local West Virginia television station to discuss President Biden's "critical" coronavirus relief plan- an appearance that angered the West Virginia senator.

Whether the Harris interviews were created to pressure Manchin and Sinema into backing the American Rescue Plan was not immediately clear.

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said later on Monday that the Biden team was "in touch" with Manchin, whose vote is pivotal to getting the President's proposal passed with the Senate's razor-thin Democratic majority.

"We've been in touch with Sen".

And by Tuesday, Manchin himself was looking to move past the controversy, telling reporters that it was just a "mistake" and there were "no apologies needed".

The Prime Minister also thanked Mr.me Harris for United States support on the release of Canadians Michael Kovrig and Michael Spavor, who have been detained in China for more than two years.

Dolly Parton Says She Declined Presidential Medal of Freedom, Twice
But Parton, who famously helped fund Moderna's COVID-19 vaccine research, had to turn it down both times, she explained. During his administration, Trump bestowed the Presidential Medal of Freedom to mainly political and sports figures.

She also said the administration wanted to work to help coal miners in West Virginia transfer their job skills. "No one called me", Manchin said Friday to WSAZ, the West Virginia station where Harris gave an interview Thursday.

"I saw the interview, I couldn't believe it". No one called me. "But if a person is making $250,000 or $300,000, I don't think they're in much as need as a person making $40,000 or $50,000". "That's not working together".

Harris' interview has angered a moderate Democrat crucial to the closure of the proposed relief; he blasted Harris after she framed the relief package as a "big issue" for West Virginia, a key state in an evenly divided 50-50 Senate. Kyrsten Sinema, along with Sen.

Vice President Kamala Harris made history for black women across the world with her inauguration as the 49 Vice President of the United States. Biden designated some $2 trillion for the economic plan, saying that the sum will also be poured into the vaccination program, safe school reopenings and help to small businesses and working families.

His comments come shortly after VP Harris spoke to WSAZ's Amanda Barren about the ARP, referring to the impact caused by the pandemic on the country and on West Virginia in particular.

"All of those skilled workers who are in the coal industry and transferring those skills to what we need to do in terms of dealing with reclaiming abandoned land mines; what we need to do around plugging leaks from oil and gas wells; and, transferring those important skills to the work that has yet to be done that needs to get done", she said. Manchin, according to WSAZ, noted that Congress has already invested $4.8 trillion in less than a year - a sum that, he said, eclipses the entire U.S. budget.
