Kate praises nurse for going ‘extra mile’ by playing Bon Jovi to dying patient

The Duchess was speaking to five nurses from University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust in her role as patron of the Nursing Now campaign.

The Duchess of Cambridge spoke to the nurses from Queen Elizabeth's Sandringham home, which is not far from where she's isolating with Prince William, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. "These acts of courage, strength, and kindness matter so much right now and we owe you a huge thank you for all that you have done and continue to do throughout these hard times".

"You hear time and time again about the awesome things nurses up and down the country are doing, going that extra mile", the Duchess said in the video.

"It's the things that, you know, it's not part of the training and the things that you're taught, but the things that come from your heart".

While chatting to a group of nurses, Kate Middleton showed off a new look. "I fear, like you said, you're all so busy caring for everyone else that you won't take enough time to care for yourselves and we won't see the impacts for quite some time", Prince William said during the call. "It won't be appropriate".

He went on to say: "It's been tough, but like I said earlier, I'm surrounded by some wonderful people with lots of skills and inspirational stories".

Since then more than 440,000 vaccines have been delivered across the Midlands with the vaccination programme continuing in the region.

She has been part of the initiative since 2018, aiming to raise the profile of nurses globally.

Professor Nina Morgan, UHCW chief nursing officer, replied some nurses were finding it "incredibly difficult". "I'm obsessed", they gushed.
