Israel Bombs Syria, Four Civilians Reported Killed

Syria: Two children among family killed by Israeli strikes, says state media

Sana published photos of the destroyed home, where all four victims were members of the same family - father, mother and two children - in an unspecified location in the western countryside of Hama, about 150 km north of Damascus.

The Israeli military declined to comment.

State-news agency SANA quoted an unnamed military official as saying the attack took place shortly before dawn when Israeli warplanes flew over neighboring Lebanon. Iran and its Lebanese ally Hezbollah have backed Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in the civil war by supplying military supplies and fighters.

Syrian air defences confronted early on Friday "an Israeli aggression" in the region of Hama that killed four people from the same family, state media said.

State TV said the family that was killed had been displaced by Syria's almost 10-year conflict.

But the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights war monitor said the deaths were caused by debris from a Syrian anti-aircraft missile which fell on a house.

Valve CEO Gabe Newell Says There Are New 'Games in Development'
The last we've heard about possible Valve projects, game designer Robin Walker told GameInformer , earlier previous year , that Half Life: Alyx was seen as a "return to this world, not the end of it".

Friday's strikes appeared to be the first such attacks since US President Joe Biden took office on Wednesday.

The strikes, which reportedly targeted more than 15 Iran-linked facilities, were the fourth reported attack by Israel against Iranian targets in Syria in weeks, a significant increase from the normal rate of such strikes.

Last week, Israeli warplanes carried out intense airstrikes in eastern Syria, apparently targeting positions and arms depots of Iran-backed forces. At least 57 fighters were killed and dozens more wounded according to SOHR.

In previous statements, Israel has described its Syria strikes as necessary to protect its northern front from Iran.

The Israeli army rarely acknowledges attacks, but it did say it hit about 50 targets in the war-torn country in 2020, without providing details.
