Boeing Max Set for Key European Approval Step Next Week

European regulator to lift Boeing 737 MAX grounding in January

The FAA said the move was made in co-operation with air safety regulators worldwide.

Europe's aviation safety regulator will probably approve the return of Boeing Co.'s 737 Max in January after studies and test flights showed the USA planemaker has fixed the faults that caused fatal crashes.

European Union approval will mark a milestone in Boeing's effort to return the Max to service outside the USA, after the Federal Aviation Administration granted final clearance for the jet's return this week.

Regulators have cleared Boeing's 737 MAX to fly again, 20 months after the fleet was grounded globally following two fatal crashes. India's Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) was among the last few regulators to impose the ban.

Nets trade 19th pick, get Shamet from Clippers in 3-team deal
The Pistons are easily the furthest from contending and probably liked the idea of landing the youngest player. By dealing him away, Pistons general manager Troy Weaver will get a third first-round pick in tonight's draft.

Having manually trimmed the horizontal stabilizer on 737 series aircraft a number of times, I can attest from a pilot's standpoint it is something that can be easily done once the electronic inputs are terminated. The anti-stall system did that in response to an indication from a faulty sensor that erroneously read the aircraft nose as too high.

Minister of Transport Marc Garneau said in a statement Wednesday that Canada will impose different requirements than the USA before it lifts the grounding orders for the plane, including additional procedures on the flight deck and pre-flight and differences in training for flight operators. This shouldn't lead to longer certification processes, he said.

The UK's Civil Aviation Authority said: "It is the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) that will validate this certification across the EU member states, as well as now for the UK".
