The ‘Strawberry Moon Eclipse’ Will Be Visible Tonight

June 2020 full moon is all set to grace the night skies over the next few days.

When to check: Since it is a penumbral lunar eclipse, after some time, the Strawberry Moon is likely to be faint and make it hard for people to see, the IE report said. A penumbral lunar eclipse takes place when the Moon moves through the faint, outer part of Earth's shadow called the penumbra. For certain parts of the planet, it coincided with an understated partial eclipse. "Because the moon is farther away from Earth, it seems smaller and does not block the entire view of the sun, thus creating a "ring of fire" effect", PAGASA explained.

Before jumping into what a Strawberry Moon is and how you can see it in Australia, here's what you need to know about the three types of lunar eclipses: total, partial and penumbral. Coincidentally, the June full moon is joined by a lunar eclipse that will start at 11:15pm IST on June 5 and end at 2:34am on June 6. Eclipses of this sort are usually hard to observe, and the moon often appears to turn red as it passed through the Earth's shadow, directly behind the planet. You'll also hear it referred to as the Mead Moon, Honey Moon, Rose Moon and Hot Moon. Every full moon in June is in fact a "strawberry" moon. In October, the Moon will appear in its fullest form twice, as per Space.com.

European Union will eventually resolve budget deadlock, Hungary’s Orbán says
The survey said 72% of people in both countries support the link between money and observing the rule of law. Slovenia's Prime Minister Janez Jansa, a close ally of Orban, gave his support to Hungary and Poland.

Like the one that occurred on January 10, the upcoming one will also be a penumbral lunar eclipse. But this is a special event, which leads to three eclipses.

The eclipse will be visible from parts of Africa, including Central African Republic, Congo and Ethiopia. The moon was at its absolute fullest on Friday afternoon, June 5, at 3:12 p.m in the Eastern Time Zone of the United States. The reason for this is that its central one - the June 20 annular eclipse - is very central, very close to the season's theoretical midst. After today, a solar eclipse will happen on June 21 followed by another lunar eclipse next month on July 4-5.

Though subtle, you'll be able to see the difference in the moon before and after the eclipse if you photograph both moments.
