Nets trade 19th pick, get Shamet from Clippers in 3-team deal

Clippers Send Landry Shamet To Nets, Receive Luke Kennard, Pistons Get No. 19

The 31-year-old was traded to the Raptors back in February 2017 from the Orlando Magic in exchange for Terrence Ross and a first-round draft choice.

The trade was part of a three-team deal that sent Clippers guards Landry Shamet to Brooklyn and Rodney McGruder to Detroit while netting the Clippers guard Luke Kennard and the draft rights to 55 overall pick Jay Scrubb, the national junior college player of the year. By dealing him away, Pistons general manager Troy Weaver will get a third first-round pick in tonight's draft. Los Angeles flipped Bey, who played at Villanova, to the Pistons for Kennard. McGruder, 29, averaged 3.3 points and 2.7 rebounds per game as a depth option on the Clippers.

The Clippers also added center Daniel Oturu from Minnesota in a draft-day trade with the New York Knicks for a 2023 second-round selection.

Bey is a 6-foot-9 forward that Yahoo Sports' Krysten Peek described as "a great outside shooter for his size and excellent in pick-and-pop situations" in her last mock draft. Still, over the 28 games he competed in, he averaged career-highs for points (15.8), assists (4.1) and rebounds (3.5) as a starter for Detroit. The Pistons are easily the furthest from contending and probably liked the idea of landing the youngest player.
