Trump options narrow as MI backs Biden win

Trump Campaign Senior Legal Advisor Jenna Ellis speaks as Trump campaign advisor Boris Epshteyn reaches out to former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani personal attorney to US President Donald Trump during a news conference in Washingt

White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany told reporters that the meeting with MI officials was "not an advocacy meeting" and insisted Trump "routinely meets with lawmakers from across the country".

In the absence of certification of the election and conceding by President Trump, the General Services Administration (GSA) has refrained from taking the steps necessary to ensure smooth transition of power to the incoming Biden administration, including the release of over Dollars 9 million for the Congressional-mandated transition team. Biden is set to take office on January 20 as the 46th United States president.

Trump also took the unprecedented step of hosting legislative leaders from MI, where he seeks to block the state from certifying the results which handed Biden a 155,000-vote victory.

"As Secretary of State, I believe that the numbers that we have presented today are correct" says Raffensperger.

Michigan Senate Majority Leader Mike Shirkey and Speaker of the House Lee Chatfield confirmed the long odds of any such strategy after meeting the president at the White House on Friday afternoon.

The president provided no evidence to back up his claim.

The two Republican legislators - hailing from a state that Mr Biden is projected to win by 154,000 votes - said they had focused during the discussion on Covid-19 assistance, not Mr Trump's efforts to overturn the election results.

Claiming against all odds that a path to victory remains viable, and facing pushback from fellow Republicans alarmed by his effort to overturn results, Trump invited MI lawmakers to the White House Friday as part of a bid to subvert the will of voters in key states.

Trump's endorsement two years ago helped Kemp win a heated Republican primary and eke out a narrow general election victory over Democrat Stacey Abrams.

J&K: Four terrorists gunned down in Nagrota district
Lt Governor hailed the valour and quick reaction of the security forces in foiling the nefarious design of the terrorists. The investigations showed that the truck bore a fake registration number.

He called for an overhaul of Georgia's absentee ballot laws, recommending additional security measures for mail voting in an effort to increase public trust in how the state verifies its mail-in ballots. Since then, states have voted in reforms to the electoral college system created to prevent a politician from exerting personal influence over the democratic process.

Several White House staffers have tested positive for the disease in recent weeks, including chief of staff Mark Meadows, while six members of Congress have tested positive this week.

"While in 2016 President Trump became the duly elected president, many sought to undermine him, discredit him, delegitimise him and deny his victory". Biden now has 306 electoral votes to Trump's 232 votes.

She pointed out that some 70 Democratic lawmakers had boycotted his inauguration.

Romney is one of few Republican lawmakers to acknowledge President-elect Joe Biden's election success after networks called the Democrat the victor in the contest, which was not close. Ms McEnany also said that media outlets had accused Mr Trump of having colluded with Russian Federation, an allegation that a major justice department inquiry found no evidence to support.

"The UMWA did not support either candidate for President in this election". "The numbers reflect the verdict of the people, not a decision by the secretary of state's office or of courts or of either campaign".

"I live by the motto that numbers don't lie".

Mr Trump Jnr is the latest member of the president's family to become infected with a virus that has killed more than 250,000 Americans and infected almost 12 million others.

Raffensperger had ordered the hand recount as a part of the statewide risk-limiting audit process, because Biden's margin of victory was so thin.
