New PlayStation Store Update Removes PS3, PS Vita, PSP Content

Another indie Dev denies Sony's PS store sales demands

As development focus shifted to the PlayStation 4, optimising the PlayStation Store experience on previous platforms apparently became less of a priority.

Sony may be very happy to discount PlayStation Store games at the request of developers, but I've heard for weeks that Japanese giants haven't helped in that sector. It mentions features that will no longer be available to users.

The rumors were true: Sony is indeed removing the ability to buy PS3, PSP, and PS Vita games from the PSN Store when accessing the via the mobile app or web browser. Your existing PS4 apps, themes and avatars will remain on your PS4 console.

Fellow Irishman, Shane Lowry, was tied for 45th after shooting a two-under 70 today, to move seven places up the leaderboard. Day is playing for his 13th Tour victory and first since the 2018 Wells Fargo Championship.

The user wishlist, another useful feature, will be kicked out in the new version. However, you will still be able to buy PS3™, PSP or PS Vita content by accessing PS Store directly from your PS3, PSP or PS Vita.

The new update will start rolling out on October 21. On mobile devices, the removal is happening on October 28, 2020. Thus, items now sitting in "Your Wishlist" will be removed once the store's forthcoming update launches.

As confirmed in an email from Sony, via Twitter user Wario64, the changes have come as part of the revamp the company's storefront is going through ahead of the PS5 launch. After already receiving criticism for the buggy PS4 update and the new voice chat policy, Sony might as well be slammed for its new PS Store.
