Gareth Bale Increasingly Open To Move Amid Tottenham And Man Utd Interest

Euro star Bale has won four European Cups with Real Madrid since moving to La Liga in 2013

Gareth Bale has been linked with a return to Tottenham several times in the past, but this summer there appear to be concrete discussions about a move back to London.

It had been reported in England that Tottenham and Manchester United were interested in signing Bale.

But having forged strong relationships with key staff during his spell as Madrid manager between 2010 and 2013, Mourinho has spoken to former colleagues at the club to find out why Bale has fallen out of favour under Zidane.

Where Bale is concerned, a loan looks likeliest at the moment, though a permanent transfer has not been ruled out, with Real keen to recover costs as they look to offload their highest earner.

Signing Bale would go against Solskjaer's usual policy of buying hungry young players who he can improve but The Sun says he's open to the idea of buying a proven talent like the Welshman if needed.

Tottenham, however, have the additional emotional pull for the player they signed as a 17-year-old from Southampton in 2007 and helped develop into one of the world's best players.

The Spanish defender has been of interest to those at Old Trafford for a while now but their inability to see eye to eye with Real Madrid has stalled any potential deal.

After losing their opening game of the Premier League season against Everton on Sunday, Tottenham could do with the morale-boost that would come from signing Bale.

Mourinho has already signed Matt Doherty, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Joe Hart since the end of last season.
