Kevin Spacey Sued for Alleged Sexual Assault

Star Trek actor Anthony Rapp and one other sue Kevin Spacey over alleged 1980s sexual assaults

KEVIN SPACEY has been sued by actor Anthony Rapp and another man, with both alleging he sexually assaulted them as 14-year-olds in the 1980s.

According to Variety, one of the plaintiffs is actor Anthony Rapp, who first came forward with allegations against Spacey in October 2017. While at Spacey's Manhattan residence, Rapp alleges the actor made "unwanted sexual advances", grabbing his "buttocks", lifting him "onto a bed" and laying on his body. Rapp, 48, who is best known for playing the character Mark Cohen in the original Broadway production of "Rent", extricated himself and eventually was able to flee from the apartment, the lawsuit said.

The other alleged victim, who is going under the pseudonym of C.D. claims he and Spacey met while he was only 12 during an acting class that was being taught by him in 1981 in Westchester County. The court filing claims C.D. performed "anal intercourse on defendant Spacey and oral sex". Spacey has also reportedly been investigated in London, related to six claims of sexual assault and assault, but no charges have been filed against him and British police do not identify suspects until they have been charged.

Both Rapp and the anonymous accuser can seek damages for emotional distress as a result of their alleged encounters with Spacey because of New York's Child Victims Act, which removes the statute of limitations on such cases, allowing alleged victims to sue until they're 55 (they previously had until age 23 to take legal action).

In response, Spacey said that he didn't remember the incident, but apologised for any "deeply inappropriate drunken behaviour". Furthermore, the suit refers to the same incident of sexual misconduct that Rapp opened up about back in 2017 during a Buzzfeed interview.

FOX Sports’ Skip Bayless stands by comments criticizing Cowboys’ Dak Prescott’s depression
FOX Sports condemned Skip's comments as "insensitive" - and says they addressed the matter with Bayless directly. But never too much for a community or never too much for the people and the family that you love.

Furthermore, Kevin Spacey came out as a gay man in the same statement.

The plaintiffs are seeking damages for the severe emotional distress they experienced because of the encounters.

PinkNews has contacted Spacey's lawyer for comment on the lawsuit. He says, during their final encounter, his "verbal and physical resistance" were ignored by Spacey, now 61.

MA prosecutors dropped an indecent assault and battery case against Spacey in July 2019, after the victim in the case declined to take the stand, according to Deadline.
