The 33-year-old drowned during a boating trip with her son earlier this month.

Naya Rivera will make an appearance on the Netflix baking reality competition show Sugar Rush.

The episode with Rivera will air on Friday, July 31 on Netflix along with the rest of third season.

Rivera filmed her appearance on Sugar Rush in February - weeks before Hollywood shut down due to the coronavirus pandemic in March - and the episode will be dedicated to the late actress with an onscreen note honouring her before the opening credits.

On July 13, Rivera's body was recovered from Lake Piru in California, five days after she went missing when she had rented a boat with her 4-year-old son, Josey.

Covid-19 and the heart; two new studies suggest connection
The study, funded by the British Heart Foundation (BHF), also found that around one in seven had evidence of severe dysfunction. But the scientists also discovered that the virus was actively replicating itself inside the tissue until the patient died.

"The autopsy findings are consistent with a drowning and the condition of the body is consistent with the time that she was submerged", a statement from the Medical Examiner's Office said.

The star was buried at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in LA on July 24.

Netflix reportedly consulted with her manager Gladys Gonzalez on whether to proceed with the release of the episode and was given the go-ahead.

Her family also acknowledged the people who helped locate her. "Thank you to the men and women of the Ventura, Tulare, and San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Departments for your commitment and unwavering effort to find Naya", their statement continued.
