Herman Cain dies after COVID-19 diagnosis

Herman Cain Dead at 74 from COVID-19, Got Sick After Trump Tulsa Rally

Cain was a "Powerful Voice of Freedom and all that is good", Trump wrote on social media before hailing the fellow Republican for having an incredible career and being liked by everyone he met.

His team had said earlier this week he was still in the hospital being treated with oxygen but that he appeared to be getting better. "What they didn't know was his business background", he wrote on Mr Cain's official website. Last year, the president nominated Cain to a seat on the Federal Reserve Board, the USA central bank, but Cain withdrew after opposition mounted against him. However, multiple women came forward to accuse him of sexual harassment from his days running the National Restaurant Association in the '90s.

On June 20, Cain had attended an indoor rally in Tulsa, OK, for President Donald Trump.

Herman Cain, the pizza chain executive who rose to prominence in Republican politics before being felled by a sex scandal, has died after being admitted to hospital in July with the coronavirus.

"We knew when he was first hospitalized with COVID-19 that this was going to be a rough fight", Calabrese said. He also tweeted a photograph of himself there, not wearing a mask, in a group of other Trump fans who were also maskless.

COVID-19 app, backed by federal government, now available
The app then checks a list of codes from people several times a day from people who tell the app they've tested positive. Trudeau said the federal government is working with the Atlantic provinces to integrate their system with the app next.

Former Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain died at the age of 74 after contracting the coronavirus.

He graduated from Morehouse College, a historically black college for men in Atlanta, received a master's degree from Purdue University and worked as a civilian mathematician in the US Navy. He also was active in public policy, where he was the former chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank in Kansas City, Missouri.

The president paid tribute to Mr Cain on Thursday at the White House, saying: "He was a very special person. and unfortunately he passed away from a thing called the China virus".
