Health officials in British Columbia are reporting 50 new COVID-19 cases and one death as the province heads into a summer holiday weekend.
Dr. Henry and Dix added that the total number of cases across the province now sits at 3,641, with 278 active cases and a recovery rate of 87 per cent. This new outbreak brings the total of health-care outbreaks to three, with two in long-term care facilities and one in acute care.
Fraser Health says Dania Home is a long-term care facility owned and operated by Dania Home Society.
There are no new community outbreaks. Public health teams are still responding to ongoing outbreaks at a blueberry packing facility in the Fraser Valley and on Haida Gwaii. That said, people are reminded to always wash fruit and vegetables before eating them. An outbreak on Haida Gwaii was declared by Northern Health on July 24.

But Judge Loretta Preska says the public interest in the documents "far outweighed" the possible "embarrassment". She sued Maxwell for calling her account "obvious lies".
The province also warned of additional community exposure events that have taken place across the province, including an ever-growing list of flights travelling to or from Vancouver International Airport.
"Let's socialize safely by keeping our groups small, using the layers of protection and giving everyone enough space to stay safe, whether at a backyard barbecue, on a friend's boat or enjoying a nearby park". The remaining 45 are new positive tests for COVID-19.
The Fraser Health Authority confirmed the COVID-19 case is a staff member at Dania Home.
The pair also directed B.C. residents to a "good times guide" on the provincial government website, calling the guide "our playbook for how to have fun and to keep each other safe and healthy".
