Documents: Epstein gave Prince Andrew underage girl for sex in blackmail bid

Joe Giddens The Duke of York is featured in newly released court documents involving an alleged Jeffrey Epstein victim

A manuscript featuring a detailed account of the Duke of York's alleged London sexual encounter with a woman who claims she was a victim of Jeffrey Epstein is among newly released court documents.

Special Agent Jason Richards wanted to reopen the case against convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein almost a decade ago but gave up due to pressure from his management at the Federal Bureau of Investigation, according to the testimony of Virginia Giuffre, one of Epstein's alleged victims.

Giuffre, who was recruited by Maxwell for Epstein as a masseuse when she was 16, has alleged that she was forced to have sex with a number of powerful men including Britain's Prince Andrew, former New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson, former Senator George Mitchell, and French modelling agent, Jean-Luc Brunel.

Giuffre spoke to "CBS This Morning" co-host Gayle King in July, and told her "you couldn't say no" to Epstein and Maxwell from her position because "you're afraid for your life". Epstein victim Virginia Roberts Giuffre's deposition in the lawsuit compiles a disturbing picture of Maxwell's involvement, depicting her to be as monstrous & controlling as Jeffrey Epstein.

She is now awaiting trial in a Brooklyn federal detention facility, facing the possibility of up to 35 years in prison.

Virginia Roberts Giuffre speaks during a press conference outside a Manhattan court in NY on August 27, 2019.

Maxwell denied these accusations in a 2016 deposition, calling Giuffre an "absolute liar". Prosecutors said she also joined in the abuse.

The Guardian quoted an unnamed friend of the prince, saying there was no proof of any of these actions.

"You have done nothing wrong and I would urge you to start acting like it", Epstein wrote in January 2015, as more allegations of sexual abuse against him surfaced.

NASA's Mars Perseverance Rover Launch window opens at 7:50 am tomorrow
If all goes to plan, it will reach the Red Planet on February 18, 2021, becoming the 5th rover to complete the voyage since 1997. Perseverance will launch today (Thursday, July 30) after a series of delays forced NASA to extend the original launch window.

US District Judge Loretta Preska had ordered them released, but ms Maxwell's lawyers appealed her ruling to the 2nd US Circuit Court of Appeals.

Before the Court of Appeals granted Maxwell's request Friday, she had argued that release of her 2016 testimony would damage her chances of receiving a fair trial, as well as taint a jury that would be selected for a trial scheduled for next year, Bloomberg reported. The judge rejected the attempts and accused Maxwell's defense team of trying to "muddy the waters".

The British socialite, who has pleaded not guilty, will go on trial in July 2021.

Prosecutors accuse the 58-year-old of recruiting and grooming girls as young as 14 to be abused by Epstein and farmed out to some of his wealthy associates. If convicted, she could face up to 35 years in prison.

But among the hundred's of pages of unsealed records is an email between Ghislaine Maxwell and Jeffrey Epstein from 2015.

One email, sent from Epstein's email address but written in Maxwell's voice, appeared to be a draft a statement or set of talking points for Maxwell to use in defending herself.

"Absent a stay from this court, it will forever let the cat out of the bag", her lawyers wrote.

"I have been the target of outright lies, innuendo, slander, defamation and salacious gossip and harassment", it says.
