Taylor Swift Quickly Changes ‘Folklore’ Merch Logo After Logo Controversy Emerged

Taylor Swift

In a statement to Good Morning America on Tuesday, July 28, a representative for Swift revealed that the Grammy victor chose to change the design for the merchandise promoting her seventh album, Folklore, which was released on Friday, July 24, after claims that the art looked similar to the logo of Amira Rasool's company, The Folklore, an online retailer.

According to Women's Wear Daily, Swift had planned to call the merch line "The Folklore", until her team heard from Amira Rasool, the owner of the website that already has that name.

Rasool had her own logo custom-designed by Caine Casket in 2018.

Furthermore, she claimed her gratitude expressing about the damages that her company's brand faced. Rasool says she got immediate word that the word "The" would be removed from all the merch, and that it would be marketed just as "Folklore", the same name as the album itself. Especially for women protecting their creative rights.

Neither Harry Styles or Taylor Swift have responded to the fan theory but the evidence in favour of it speaks volumes. "Yesterday, we were made aware of a complaint that the specific use of the word "the" before "folklore album" on some of the folklore album merchandise was of concern".

Immanuel then claimed masks and lockdowns are not needed to stop the diseases spreading, adding: "Hello, you don't need a mask". Capitol that the coronavirus could be cured and that widely accepted efforts to slow its spread were unnecessary and unsafe .

When folklore first dropped, fans were quick to dissect each and every word Swift wrote - because as we know with the singer, they are often filled with intention.

Rasool later took to social media in response to Swift's team's statement.

"Wait hold up. Taylor Swift, it's one thing to use the name 'Folklore, ' but we're out here stealing Black women's logos too?" In a series of tweets, she announced: "cardigan "cabin in candlelight" version is out now".

'It was a great first step and we are in conversation right now with Taylor's team about the next steps to make this situation right'.

Amira additionally said that Taylor's fans had attacked her for speaking out, "calling me a b***h and a liar" and accusing her of being merely an attention seeker.
