Long-rumored Harry Potter RPG will reportedly release in 2021

Avalanche Software staff confirm an open world Harry Potter game is coming to next-gen

Reportedly, the long-rumored Harry Potter RPG is in the works at WB Games-owned Avalanche Software, the studio behind Disney Infinity. Interactive Entertainment purchased and revived in 2017 after its closure in 2016.

Despite many challenges, including a global pandemic and fierce backlash against recent comments by Harry Potter series creator J.K. Rowling, and even a possible sale of the Warner Bros. gaming publishing business, the game remains on track for a release next year. This confirms details that leaked earlier this month.

The big-budget Harry Potter game will let players role-play as wizards and roam a "vast, open-world re-creation of Hogwarts and its surrounding areas". Now sources have told Bloomberg's Jason Schreier that the game is in development and is coming to next-generation consoles. The report touches upon how that's been perceived by staff at developer Avalanche Software.

More advanced moon-gazers of any age can take this opportunity to identify structures on the moon, she said. It simply means the April full moon and it will probably still be silver or yellow-tinged in the sky.

Set in the 19th Century (1800's) Wizarding World, this 3rd person open-world action RPG game centers around your character with unique abilities who has eared a late acceptance to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Felicia Grady, managing editor of the popular Harry Potter fan site MuggleNet, said the Rowling controversy is likely to summon a shroud of Dementor-like negativity around the game.

The game will reportedly be revealed after the next Batman game, which is expected at the DC FanDome event in August. There have been tons of rumors, leaks, and reports about this RPG since some footage leaked back in 2018. "However, one of the people working on the game stressed that Rowling has very little direct involvement".
