Harry Potter RPG Reportedly Due in Late 2021

Report ‘Big-budget’ Harry Potter game could come in 2021

The game is set in a "vast, open-world re-creation of Hogwarts and its surrounding areas". So much for Dark Legacy Harry Potter game leak, which is hardly surprising given how oddly specific those rumors were. The site Bloomberg reveals today new details: two people who now work in this project confirm that the information is real.

In October a year ago footage from a Harry Potter game found it's way on to the internet and we suggested that it might be from Avalanche Software, a former Disney studio that Warner Bros. snapped up in January 2017.

In early June, CNBC reported that AT&T was interested in selling off its Warner Bros. gaming division.

Studio management has reportedly yet to address recent comments from Rowling, which were widely seen as transphobic and made some members of the development team uncomfortable, sparking private discussions over the workplace communication app Slack.

Former boxing champion Roberto Durán tests positive for coronavirus
Duran won the world welterweight championship by earning a unanimous-decision victory over Leonard at Montreal in June. The country has had more than 29,000 confirmed cases, with more than 13,000 still active and 564 deaths.

The game is scheduled to release for next-gen only in late 2021, meaning that the Harry Potter RPG will be coming to PS5. But in this, would have "very little direct involvement " he said to us.

Felicia Grady, the managing editor of the popular Harry Potter fan site MuggleNet wrote an e-mail to Bloomberg stating that this controversy is, "likely to diminish some of the anticipation of the game". Bloomberg said that neither Rowling's statements nor the potential sale have impacted the game's release schedule.

The title would be, more precisely, in the course of development in a studio of Warner Bros, Avalanche Software, based in Salt Lake City. We might see it at one of the upcoming PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X events. The plan is, according to the sources, that the new Batman game will be announced at DC FanDome in August.
