Autistic 9-Year-Old Florida Boy Found Dead After Being Kidnapped

Patricia Ripley

An Amber Alert went out and hours later, was canceled when Alejandro Ripley was found dead in a golf course waterway, police said. No additional information regarding the circumstances behind Ripley's death has been released by local authorities.

Shortly after, the pursuing vehicle forced the woman off the road and crashed into her auto to block her in, reported NBC Miami.

An arrest affidavit says she provided "conflicting statements", and finally was confronted with testimonies of witnesses and video footage showing the first attempt to push the boy into the canal. "The vehicle then blocked her in while a male passenger ambushed her, demanding drugs".

According to the agency, Alejandro, who was autistic and non-verbal, was pulled out of his mother's auto by two black men driving a light blue four-door sedan.

"The passenger of the vehicle exits the vehicle, approaches the mother, and demands drugs", Miami-Dade Police Detective Angel Rodriguez told CBS Miami.

"The only voice in his life that he depended on to get through this world was his mom's, and to think that that voice would be the one to harm him the most", said Miami-Dade Deputy Director Freddie Ramirez at the press conference.

One of the abductors may be wearing all black clothing and a black bandanna as a face mask. "He may also have cornrows in his hair".

Authorities said the boy had autism and was non-verbal. Police questioned employees at the Home Depot where Ripley was abducted, as well as the boy's family. The body is believed to be Ripley, though the body was not officially identified.

The body of an autistic boy reportedly abducted outside a Home Depot was found at a Florida country club on Friday, ending an overnight search by police.
