FIA says 10 coronavirus cases wouldn't stop F1 race

F1 plans to start European season in July Olivia Powell

Circuit boss Jorn Teske said a decision is expected imminently, saying: "We are talking with F1, that's correct".

If the exemption is not forthcoming, the two races planned for Silverstone in July and August - the British GP and a second round to make up for time lost to coronavirus - will move to Hockenheim in Germany's Rhine Valley. For us, it is an option.

With a new calendar due within the next few days, it means Hockenheimring could well be able to green light that particular date over Silverstone, putting pressure on British GP to not only to convince the government to ease quarantine restrictions for F1 members but also find another slot on the calendar altogether. If an agreement can not be struck, Hockenheim will be the obvious alternative.

COVID-19 has put Hockenheim very much back on the agenda, with a source telling the Daily Mail that "it is basically a matter of turning the key in the gates".

"People forget that there is probably not one other sport that has such a big economic impact on this country as Formula One, in terms of the number of people employed here, either directly or indirectly", he told the Daily Telegraph.

"What is really crucial for us is not to be pending now for months".

Man reunited with his parents 32 years after being kidnapped
The father quit his job to search for the child, distributing more than 100,000 advertisements for his son's disappearance. Officials from the region said the adopted boy was renamed Gu Ningning and grew up with no knowledge of his birth parents.

A quarantine in the United Kingdom or in any other country could also pose a problem for football clubs still participating in European competition.

It intends to run the postponed 2020 Historique on April 23-25, Formula E's E-Prix on May 8, and the Formula 1 Grand Prix on May 20-23.

The president of the FIA's medical fee, Gerard Saillant, is assured any constructive COVID-19 check outcomes might be dealt with in a approach that might keep away from the cancellation of the race as in Australia. The chances of Hockenheim returning to the F1 calendar next year remained remote, said Teske.

"I think the situation is quite different between Melbourne and Austria now", said Saillant. "The knowledge of the virus is quite different". It is possible to prevent and to anticipate a lot of things.

"If we have one positive case, or maybe ten positive cases, it's possible to manage perfectly with a particular track, a special pathway for the positive cases".
