Astronaut Christina Koch reunited with her dog after year in space

WATCH Astronaut welcomed home by excited pooch after a year in space

The end of astronaut Christina Koch's year in space included an emotional reunion with her dog, LBD, and a video of the moment is getting millions of views on social media. None other than her dog.

Meanwhile, NASA astronaut Christina Koch just stepped back on the planet after 328 days on the International Space Station (ISS).

There's a lotta tail wagging, overjoyed jumping, hugs, and - OK we would like some tissues now, please and thank you.

She returned to Earth Feb. 6 after 11 months in space.

Koch also revealed that she returned home to Galveston in Texas to a kitchen filled with her favorite food - chips, and salsa - and the first thing she did was relieve her cravings for it.

CDC confirms ME resident being tested for coronavirus
They were allowed to continue on to their final destinations and self-monitor for symptoms for 14 days. After showing symptoms, the patient was taken to a hospital and isolated before testing positive.

Koch landed in Kazakhstan on February 6 with European Space Agency astronaut Luca Parmitano and Russian cosmonaut Alexader Skvortskov. "Glad she remembers me after a year", Koch tweeted. Koch adopted her from human society. The puppy's name is LBD, which means "Little Brown Dog". "Not sure who was more excited", she wrote.

The electrical engineer-turned astronaut said she counted herself lucky to not have suffered more serious ailments. Her 328-day mission was the longest ever by a woman.

Koch touched down last week with colleagues Luca Parmitano of the European Space Agency and Alexander Skvortsov of the Russian space agency.

Side-effects include a significant loss of bone density and a drop in muscle mass, Business Insider reported previous year.

"It's wonderful to stay really busy with all the work we're doing, both the scientific experiments, the maintenance and upgrades to board the space station, the experiments we do on ourselves", Koch told FOX News' Bill Hemmer Wednesday. "I can not wait to feel and hear Earth again".
