Huawei Has ‘Back Door’ Access in Its Networks, Warns United States

U.S. Army Secretary Ryan McCarthy said Wednesday that investments in American wireless carrier technology could help the country avoid security threats from Chinese tech giant Huawei.

"The U.S. kept the intelligence highly classified until late past year, when American officials provided details to allies including the United Kingdom and Germany, according to officials from the three countries", the Journal reported.

According to a Wall Street Journal article, United States officials claim to have evidence that the company has access to numerous mobile-phone networks globally. "Huawei has never and will never covertly access telecom networks, nor do we have the capability to do so", a Huawei spokesperson said in response. Nevertheless, it still chooses to repeat the lies spread by these USA officials.

Germany is dependent on Huawei and it's risky for Germany to exclude Huawei.

The US too security officials claim with intelligence reports that Huawei has set such backdoors for a long time.

In fact, Huawei said even The Wall Street Journal admits that U.S. officials are unable to provide any concrete details concerning these so-called "backdoors".

"Huawei does not disclose this covert access to its local customers, or the host nation national-security agencies", another senior U.S. official said.

CDC: Coronavirus test kits shipped across U.S. are faulty
This is the first person under quarantine at JBSA-Lackland who had symptoms and tested positive for coronavirus, the agency said. So far, 175 people on the ship have been infected with the virus - the largest single outbreak cluster outside of China.

Huawei has once again strenuously denied the allegations.

Huawei said The Wall Street Journal is clearly aware that the United States government can't provide any evidence to support their allegations, and yet it still chose to repeat the lies being spread by these USA officials. Given that all the three network operators in Germany are customers of Huawei, it can lead to trade retaliation by Beijing. But a healthy chunk of the hand-wringing over China and Huawei is the product of competitors like Cisco, who adore over-hyping Huawei's issues in DC for competitive gain.

However, US officials are still keeping the pieces of evidence away from the public eye.

There's also the fact that the United States continues to dole out surveillance ethics lectures despite having an abysmal track record on the subject. Intended for law enforcement agencies, these backdoors offered opportunity for "Lawful Intercept" activities when validated by the courts, though Huawei allegedly had access to these backdoors.

The US of course absolutely loves backdoors. But were foreign companies to then suggest that AT&T should be banned from doing business worldwide, the backlash and demands for transparent and open evidence from these exact same sources would register on the Richter scale.

"We really need the Government to say we need a fresh start here. No Huawei employee is allowed to access the network without an explicit approval from the network operator", the Huawei official said.
