Sporting Lisbon prepares for the departure of Bruno Fernandes

Bruno Fernandes agent launches a transfer track of Man Utd on Twitter

Bruno Fernandes saw his stock being skyrocketed in the wake of a highly productive 2018-19 season, wherein he was the most prolific midfielder in Europe.

On Friday, the player's agents and Sporting president Frederico Varandas flew to London to hold a meeting with Ed Woodward and Matt Judge, The Daily Mail reports.

Manchester United could be closing in on their first deal of the winter transfer window as they look to sign Bruno Fernandes from Sporting Lisbon. However, a combination of Sporting lowering their valuation to around €60m, plus injuries to midfielders Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay, has prompted Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and the recruitment team to reignite their interest, although an agreement is yet to be reached.

Earlier this season Bruno Fernandez was linked with Manchester United before staying at Sporting Lisbon until the end.

He said: "I can't guarantee any of these things because I don't know".

While Fernandes is unlikely to register as many goals and assists in the Premier League as he now does for Sporting, he should, if he signs, add some much-needed creativity to United's midfield.

Alaska man rescued weeks after remote cabin burned down
A fire in mid-December killed Mr Steele's dog and left him with no means of communication, he told troopers. That's a very really thought that crept up nearly daily, especially in real cold nights", said Steele.

The objective was to see if a deal could be struck for Bruno Fernandes and whether a United player could be included in the operation.

If the 25-year-old player makes a move to Manchester United then surely he will massively bolster their midfield.

"Bruno Fernandes? I can't talk about individuals that play for other clubs, but I've got to say I do have the backing", Solskjaer said, as per Mirror.

Solskjaer's response was emphatic, the Norwegian saying: "Of course I am, of course we've got open discussions". "I'm here to do the best for the club, what I think and we feel is right".

The top flight giants are also monitoring alternatives, although January is predictably a tough time to prise players away from their clubs.
