No Chicken for Popeye: Manitoba Woman's 'Family Feud' Answer Goes Viral

This 'Family Feud Canada' Contestant Thought Popeye's Favourite Food Was Chicken

"They literally didn't even have words to say", she said of family's reaction to her answer. "Oh, my Gooooood", one family member gasped.

Dubois, who went viral after giving a hilarious (and hilariously wrong) answer to a question about Popeye on the Canadian version of "Family Feud", has been awarded $10,000 worth of Popeyes chicken as a condolence prize following the airing of the now-infamous episode.

Contestant Eve Dubois, from Lorette, MB, was met with abject horror from her family, unrestrained laughter from host Gerry Dee, and cheers from the opposing Tomlin family when her response to "Name Popeye's favourite food" was "chicken", accompanied by a premature victory dance. A response based on the popular fried chicken restaurant chain. The question referred to the cartoon character Popeye, not the fast food restaurant.

In her defense, Popeye's chicken is nearly infinitely better than spinach.

The host immediately put his head on the podium.

Stephanie Dubois, Eve's mother, said the whole experience was "amazing" and the family is taking Eve's mistake with a solid dose of humour. Dee turned to the board to see if, by some chance, "Chicken" was the top answer.

"Chicken", she blurted out before doing a dance to celebrate what she thought was the correct answer.

Her family's faces were full of surprise and so was Gerry's as he shouted, "Show me chicken!"

That certainly wasn't the case for a young contestant of Family Feud Canada. But the viral video of her answer got her $10,000 worth of free food.

The Tomlin family then answered correctly saying, "Spinach, Gerry!"

'Our survey says you got that right.

It only took a few moments for Dubois to realize her mistake, flashing the camera a large wide-eyed look of disbelief at the silly revelation. Her Popeye's/Popeyes confusion cost Dubois' team $10,000, CNN reports.

She also graciously accepted Popeyes' offer.
