Canada's Trudeau Promises 'Justice' As Iranians Protest Downing Of Ukrainian Plane

Justin Trudeau

"How Trump brought us to the brink of war" is the headline for one major piece still up on The New York Times site - a story that sticks to the delusion-ridden elite understanding of Iran's relations with its own people, including the refusal to recognize that Iran's been quietly, carefully at war with America ever since the revolution.

"To the leaders of Iran - DO NOT KILL YOUR PROTESTERS".

On Twitter, he warned the regime "thousands have already been killed or imprisoned" by the government and "the world is watching".

'More importantly, the U.S. is watching. Turn your internet back on and let reporters roam free! Police also patrolled at Vali-e Asr Square, at Tehran University, and other landmarks around the city.

Hajizadeh said he was so upset about Iran's accidental downing of the Ukrainian plane that "I wish I could die".

"There cannot be another massacre of peaceful protesters, nor an internet shutdown".

Videos on social media, posted late on January 12, recorded gunshots in the vicinity of protests in Tehran's Azadi Square. Security forces eventually arrived and shot tear gas into the crowds. They did, killing 1,500 people.

"National Security Adviser suggested today that sanctions & protests have Iran "choked off", will force them to negotiate", Trump said Sunday on Twitter.

Parliamentary elections are due to take place in just over a month and internal discord over this crash could lead to further unrest.

In initial reports of the crash of the Ukraine International Flight PS 752, a Boeing 737 which crashed shortly after takeoff in Tehran on Wednesday, Iran's Road and Transportation Ministry claimed that the crash was caused by "technical difficulties".

Whether it's antisemitism or the oppression of the Iranian people, the left has no interest in drawing attention to any issue unless the problem can be attributed to President Trump.

Meanwhile, said Esper, the United States believes it has disrupted the plots that it says precipitated Soleimani's killing, and expects no further Iranian retaliation.

No immediate report in Iranian state-run media confirmed the incident near Azadi, or Freedom Square in Tehran, however much of the action was captured on video including those chanting slogans against the regime and the former head of its foreign terrorist organization, Qasem Soleimani. When agents prodded the students to trample the flags, they cried out in protest that the regime was "shameless" and "dishonorable".

Iran has invited experts from Canada, France, Ukraine and the United States to take part in the investigation into the air disaster.

Iran's president called it a "disastrous mistake".

"Police treated people who had gathered with patience and tolerance", General Rahimi told Iranian media. Tehran responded with missile strikes on US targets in Iraq.

"We reach out to local lawmakers [in Maryland] and ordinary people to tell them Iran is not what they see on television", he said. Trump described it as an "imminent" attack. Esper replied: "The president has set no other conditions than to say that we are willing to meet the Iranian government".

The incident occurred after Iran deployed multiple missiles to bomb two facilities in Iraq, which were believed to have been housing US troops.

Trump on January 8 warned the Islamic regime that the United States would respond swiftly.

The US said no American personnel were harmed in those missile attacks on Iraqi soil.

Iranians have expressed anger over the downing of the plane and the misleading explanations from senior officials in the wake of the tragedy.
