Japan requests Interpol to place Ghosn's wife on wanted list:The Asahi Shimbun

Investigators believe Carole, who is now in Lebanon with Ghosn who jumped bail and fled Japan late last month, may have destroyed evidence in connection with her husband's case involving financial misconduct.

Prosecutors believe Carole met with Ghosn's acquaintance and exchanged numerous messages with him following her husband's arrest on November 19, 2018.

Carlos Ghosn, the former Nissan Motor Co head who became an global fugitive after escaping to Lebanon, said he stands ready to help that government with his "expertise".

The Justice Minister of Japan on Monday had vowed the strengthening of checks on the border and reviewing the conditions of bail post the former chairman of Nissan's escape from the country in spite of the stringent levels of surveillance being in place.

One particularly interesting thing Ghosn said during his press conference was that he wants to find a country where he can be tried fairly and have his name cleared.

Blast during a Taliban meeting in Pakistan kills 30 including ISI members
Both he and hospital officials said the death toll from the bombing could rise as some of the wounded were in critical condition. Some are Sunni militant groups who have in the past targeted the country's minority Shiite Muslims.

These were the details of the news Japan seeks Interpol wanted notice for Ghosn's wife for this day. But it is unlikely he will return as Lebanon does not have an extradition treaty with Japan.

Justice Minister Albert Serhan said January 2 that Lebanon received a request from INTERPOL to arrest Ghosn because of his escape from Japan.

Francois Zimeray said in a statement addressed to Justice Minister Masako Mori that her mistake reflected Japanese justice, which goes against the human rights principle of presumption of innocence.

The statement also slammed the arrest warrant obtained by prosecutors for his wife for alleged perjury in court past year in connection with her husband's suspected misuse of the company's funds. It deserves better than an archaic system that holds innocent people hostage.
