British actor Nicholas Hoult is jumping into action to face Tom cruise in the next movie "Mission: Impossible".

As the story goes, Hoult was originally expected to play the role of Goose's son in TOP GUN: Cruise's MAVERICK, which hits theaters this summer.

The news was announced by director Christopher McQuarrie, who sent fans into a meltdown as he shared a picture of the 30-year-old actor over on his Instagram.

Paramount and Skydance dated the seventh installment for July 23, 2021, while the eighth entry will be released on august 5, 2022.
