Frank Lampard Chelsea won't go 'crazy' after transfer ban lifted

Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud issued transfer warning by France boss Didier Deschamps

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard will be able to sign new players during the January transfer after their transfer ban was halved.

Last week Federation Internationale de Football Association confirmed they had cut the Blues' transfer ban in half, meaning they can sign players from January.

"What I'm talking about today is that we missed some chances and I think we can probably look at strengthening and pushing and getting maybe more competition in those areas".

Lampard did not think that signing another striker might affect the confidence of younger players like Tammy Abraham, who has scored 13 goals for the club this season.

But since Mourinho's warning, which came before he took over at Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea have won one of their last five games and face perhaps the biggest of their early tests against Lille in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

"But going forward if we're looking at if we can get even better".

"If anything, those kind of challenges for the young players should be ones that they stand up to".

"I don't think they're going to do that; I think they're going to steady the ship and try to add real quality to the team at the ideal age".

"If you look at those young players and the way they've developed...", Melchiot told talkSPORT. I want them all to get better and they will improve, for sure, because of their ages and where they are with their development.

"We have got a good balance but I think today was a strong sign of how much work we have to do".
