SpaceX, NASA gear up for space station resupply launch

SpaceX Rocket Launch CRS-19 Cape Canaveral Florida

The launch was scheduled for 12:51 p.m. on Wednesday but winds forced it to be re-scheduled.

"If we look at the predictions, we think we are OK", said Jessica Jensen, a mission management director with SpaceX. RELL will detect leaks and gases like ammonia.

RELL is a robotic tool operated remotely by mission controllers on the ground, created to facilitate space station repairs, but requires crew schedule and airlock availability to bring RELL outside the station with the use of station's Dextre robotic tool. The leak detectors have mass spectrometers that can find leaks from the space station, NASA officials said.

RiTS even mounts to the robotic platform that moves Dextre up and down the external rails on station and ensures a RELL tool will always be accessible.

Climate activist Greta Thunberg nears Lisbon port
This year's conference aims to reach an agreement on some of the rules to implement the Paris Agreement. Thunberg set sail from NY after touring North America, raising awareness about climate change.

NASA plans on employing RiTS and RELL systems on the Lunar Gateway and human habitats on other planets. Being able to do this 12 hours at a time from the exterior of the ISS will be extremely useful to the team of astronauts.

The new place of residence for these robots was developed by the Satellite Servicing Projects Division at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Maryland in collaboration with the Johnson Space Center in Houston. That experiment is part of Anheuser-Busch's effort to make Budweiser "the first beer on Mars", according to Wired. Twenty seeds will be sprouted or grown out.

Falcon 9 and Dragon are vertical ahead of today's resupply mission to the @Space_Station. Many recent SpaceX launches have employed reused rockets. The Dragon capsule that will carry the cargo previously flew on SpaceX's CRS-6 and CRS-11.
