In Bahamas, Tiger Woods goes through a dress rehearsal

Woods kicks off event with Hero Shot win in walk-off fashion

Rickie Fowler said on Tuesday he has enjoyed his time away from golf but is ready to get back to competition at this week's Hero World Challenge and the Presidents Cup later this month.

Woods hosts the 18-strong field at the event which is held for the benefit of his charitable foundation.

"It's the end of the year, I know they want to gear up for next week as well, but I want them to have a good time", Wood said.

"It's going to help that he's got some great guys around him as assistants that will be able to step into his role at times".

Woods, the playing captain at the Presidents Cup, reached the turn at two over par but made three birdies and an eagle over a five-hole stretch starting at the 11th to claw back up the leaderboard.

The Hero World Problem runs Wednesday to Saturday, afterwards Woods and the People head to Australia.

Having already won three times 2019, Rahm is now attempting to join Woods as the only other player to win HWC back-to-back.

Polish, Turkish presidents discuss Baltic states ahead of North Atlantic Treaty Organisation summit
We support productive cooperation with China, which we also consider to be a rising power. The cease-fire is holding very much so and I think people are surprised, ' Trump said.

"I'm not saying be a poor sport, but one challenge our team has always had is gaining a home-soil advantage because it's rare that stars like Tiger and DJ (Dustin Johnson) come to Australia (2011) or Korea (2015) where we play these things and the locals are excited to see them as much as anyone on our team", Scott said.

Fowler, who has spent part of his downtime sharpening his game with matches against Woods and fellow Presidents Cup teammates Justin Thomas, Patrick Cantlay and Gary Woodland in South Florida, knows just how hard it will be for Woods to cede any kind of control.

Dustin Johnson was the only member of the United States of America team not playing in the Bahamas. "I'll pick their brains a little bit". "We want to have a clear picture of what we want to do down there because obviously once we get down there things roll pretty quickly".

Woods noted the tight schedule filled with activities once the team arrives in Australia on Monday morning, with only two full days of practice before the competition begins on December 12.

The 30-year-old American has not played since the Tour Championship in August, taking a break before getting married in early October. Fowler shot 69 to trail the leaders by 3.

Others trying to add a sweetener to Christmas celebrations at the HWC and build on that momentum going into 2020 include Jordan Spieth, Patrick Reed, Henrik Stenson and Justin Rose.

Woods is a Presidents Cup bully too. "Jim Furyk and I had to go tee it up together, and nothing that we had prepared for, but that was the way everything fell because there was going to be an odd group out based on everyone having to play". It was an awkward wind, and we haven't really seen that during tournament play here. You're never going to have the same 12 guys again.
