Retired Adm. Joe Sestak ends bid for Democratic nomination for president

Former US Rep. Joe Sestak speaks during the Democratic Presidential Committee summer meeting

"I want to thank you for the honor of running for President of the United States of America".

Noting a lack of media coverage, former Rep. Joe Sestak, D-Pa., ended his Democratic presidential primary campaign Sunday.

"He said in his statement on Sunday that without the 'privilege of national press, ' he could no longer ask people to sacrifice resources for his campaign".

Sestak was a late entry into the race and did not qualify for any of the Democratic presidential debates.

Auto plows into children outside school near London
Harman said police have launched a search for a local man, 51-year-old Terry Glover, in connection with the attack. Helen Gascoyne, the school's head, said the community is "devastated" by the death of one of its students.

The Democratic Party was also outraged in 2010 over Sestak's election campaign against Sen.

"The hour has become late to restore U.S. leadership to this liberal world order, but Iraq is our lesson to remember", Sestak said in a video announcing his campaign in June.

"A moral compass for our great ship of state is the beacon most needed today", Sestak, who has shown a fondness for using naval metaphors in his campaigns, wrote in his departure letter. "And who offers it that all Americans will provide the fair winds and following seas to advance us", he said.

In a statement posted to Twitter on December 1, Sestak said the US needs a leader with a moral compass who will commit to advancing policies for a collective good. "That is necessary for us both at home and overseas, to convene the world to advance our policies and commitment to democratic values for our collective good".
