Taylor Swift' AMAs Performance Has Been Approved by Big Machine

Taylor Swift' AMAs Performance Has Been Approved by Big Machine

Swift alleged that they would only allow her to perform the songs if she promised to stop badmouthing Braun and Borchetta.

Swift's grievance with her former label is about money as well as artistic freedom: she claims Big Machine is blocking her from playing her older discography at the American Music Awards.

Over the last few days though, this issue has reared its ugly head once again, with Swift claiming that she has been prevented by Braun and Big Machine Records CEO Scott Borchetta from performing her old material live now.

Big Machine, which is based in Nashville, then clarified that it had "informed" the production company of its licensing approval.

Braun and Borchetta denied the claims Friday, telling Page Six that Swift's claims are "false information". Warren, a Democratic candidate for president, responded on Saturday and said she has a plan to rein in private equity firms.

"Unfortunately, Taylor Swift is one of many whose work has been threatened by a private equity firm", she wrote via her official Twitter account.

Oil prices edge up on trade-talk optimism, Opec meeting
A fourth straight weekly fall in the number of rigs actively looking for oil also supported prices. West Texas Intermediate crude oil futures for December were down marginally at $57.69 a barrel.

"At no point did we say Taylor could not perform on the AMAs".

Basden told CNN at the time that Swift's dad, Scott Swift, is a shareholder in Big Machine Records and that Basden first alerted all of the shareholders of the pending deal with Ithaca Holdings on June 25.

This includes the upcoming American Music Awards performances.

They add: "It should be noted that recording artists do not need label approval for live performances on television or any other live media". However, Borchetta and Braun have allegedly blackballed the streaming service from using old performance footage and old music for the project.

Singer-songwriter Taylor Swift is embroiled in a battle against music executives and the system at large. She called the agreement "my worst case scenario", said she has always mistrusted him, and accused him of "bullying" her, referencing a social media post in which Bieber, Braun and Kanye West - with whom Swift was bitterly and publicly sparring at the time - were photographed together captioned "Taylor Swift what up". So this move by Scooter and Scott looked like they are antagonizing her. "In fact, we do not have the right to keep her from performing live anywhere", the label's statement continued. Do you think she's going to scream sing The Man with all her bottled rage?

Taylor, the narrative you have created does not exist. "All we ask is to have a direct and honest conversation", the statement concludes. Here's hoping they can also come to an agreement for the Netflix deal.
