Pelosi Says Trump Has Chance to Testify to Impeachment Panel

Pelosi for months resisted calls from her more liberal Democratic lawmakers to initiate impeachment proceedings, but said Trump's call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy compelled her to open the inquiry against the president.

Pelosi was a guest on CBS News' Face the Nation and when asked why the president tweeted about Ambassador Marie Yovanovitch during her testimony in real-time during the impeachment hearings Pelosi said that President Donald Trump "knows her strength". She defended the impeachment process and warned Trump against trying to intimidate or harass the now anonymous Ukraine whistleblower.

"I will make sure he does not intimidate the whistleblower", Pelosi said in an interview with Face the Nation host Margaret Brennan, which aired Sunday morning.

Pelosi accused Trump of bribery last week in having his aides dangle a White House meeting, then $400 million in suspended US security assistance, if Zelenskiy announced an investigation into a Democratic 2020 political rival, former Vice President Joe Biden.

Trump wrote that Yovanovitch performed her job duties poorly during the Friday hearing, saying "everywhere" she went in her official capacity "went bad". Republicans, including former Clinton prosecutor Kenneth Starr, chastised Trump for the live mockery. "I don't know how much longer", she continued.

Kanye West thrills jail inmates to 'Jesus is King'
Never mind dancing to the jailhouse rock, Kanye West moved some inmates to tears during a surprise show at a prison in Texas . It looks like Kim Kardashian will be joining Kanye West when he visits celebrity preacher Joel Osteen in Houston tomorrow.

"I think the hearings have brought up many many troubling allegations. And so he has to diminish everyone else".

Republican Representative Jim Jordan of OH, a vocal Trump ally who was recently added to the Intelligence Committee, suggested on CBS that the aid was released after Trump and US officials spoke with newly elected Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskiy and became convinced he "was legit and he was worth the risk" of USA funding.

Like other top-level Democrats, Pelosi has refused to say when articles of impeachment would be presented against Trump and also would not commit to an end date to the inquiry. "The president could come right before the committee and talk, speak all the truth that he wants if he wants", she added.

"It's really a sad thing. I mean, what the president did was so much worse than even what Richard Nixon did", she said, echoing remarks the House Speaker made just last week, as reported by The Hill.
