'Survivor' Tackles #MeToo After Five Women Accuse Male Contestant of Inappropriate Touching

Survivor 40 Jeff Probst

Meanwhile, Survivor host Jeff Probst said he was proud of Kim in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. Fans and Probst alike have run the gamut from sexism, to racism, to downright unpredictable behavior. However, there's a new example of freaky behavior lurking on set during Season 39, and it comes in the form of Dan Spilo.

They all together discussed inappropriate behavior. However, there's another aspect to the story - two contestants exacerbated their discomfort in order to put a target on Spilo's back. "Survivor" has not created this considerably public focus and scrutiny contemplating the truth that the compelled outing of a transgender contestant varied yrs in the past, and that story dominated (and rightly so) that season's reunion explicit.

However simply a short while after, Dan met up with Missy and Elizabeth, who denied ever feeling uncomfortable by his actions. "Watching back the episode was extremely hard and I, immediately after saying what I said in the game, I regretted saying what I said and now watching it back, I'm very disappointed in myself and how I conducted myself handling the emotions of this game in this situation, given the magnitude of what this surrounds, I'm disappointed in myself". Unfortunately, this wasn't the end of the situation. Byrd seemed to agree with Kim, which motivated Kim to discuss the scenario to the camera. "This isn't just one person", she said, getting emotional.

Contestant Jamal Shipman countered by saying, "This whole idea of 'If this was actually an issue, then I would have heard about it, and he would have heard about it, ' that's exactly what happens in the real world, guys". It's not in my head. I'm not exaggerating. "He has literally done these things to five different women in this game".

On an episode which aired this Wednesday in the United States, she was encouraged to tell producers about his continuous actions, when two other women on the show, Missy Byrd and Elizabeth Beisel, claimed they were experiencing the same thing.

A producer intervenes - a Survivor first.

"You know, if there are issues to the point where things need to happen, come to me and I will make sure that stops", the producer said from behind the camera. "It's not OK", the producer told Kim. In addition, producers met privately with Dan, at which time he was issued a warning for his behavior.

Nine-Year-Old Child Prodigy To Graduate University
Despite Laurent's educational skills, he enjoys time with his dog, Sammy, and playing on his cellphone. Laurent told The Telegraph that he wants to travel to California to continue his studies.

As for Kim, she did go to Survivor producers with her concerns about Spilo and in a rare moment for the CBS reality show, they broke the fourth wall and told her he was given an official warning.

'They were cautioned about personal boundaries and reminded that producers are available to them at all times.

Former "Survivor" contestant Eliza Orlins expressed her disgust on Twitter, and said this marks her last straw with the show.

Missy also claimed ignorance to the severity of the larger situation in her post, while applauding both Kellee and Janet for standing up for what is right.

"You inform her how uncomfortable you might be", Missy stated. "But then one night, the hands were wandering", said Missy. "This changes everything. Missy has a new archenemy and voting out Kellee becomes the mission".

A further contestant, Jamal Shipman, shot down this assertion immediately, insisting that this is the type of mind-set that's vastly risky to the set off of women sensation risk-free and cost-free to speak their truths. "When I first got here, Dan was super kind and super helpful. I think what upset everybody here is that this has somehow turned into gameplay".

"Kellee has all the qualities of a great Survivor player: She has a strong voice, the presence of mind to know when to use it, she's a strategic thinker, and she walked into Tribal Council with not one, but two hidden immunity idols!"
