Google Search will correct your pronunciation of words

Google Search's pronunciation feature

Google will show you how to pronounce the word with audio.

Google is using speech recognition technology to identify how users are pronouncing words and how to correct them.

Google's new pronunciation tool will help you say words the right way. Tap that button, say the word into your phone's microphone, and Google will let you know how you did.

Users are prompted to speak the word into their mic and then Google's AI will analyze the snippet and compare it against the word's correct pronunciation.

This can be useful with words that have multiple meanings like "seal", or words like "avocado" that aren't commonly used in all languages or regions.
At the time of writing, we weren't able to replicate the feature, either via our mobile Chrome browser or Google app.

Olivia Colman struggled hiding her emotions for The Crown
There are three tiers of subscription but all of them give access to the entirety of content on the platform on all devices. This trial also means you can watch the whole series for free potentially as well as the previous two seasons.

Google is also adding images to dictionary definitions.

Practice makes ideal! Search now gives you live feedback on your pronunciation of words with the help of speech recognition technology and machine learning. At first this feature will only work with American English, but Spanish is apparently soon to follow, and hopefully other languages and dialects after that.

Google wants to help you pronounce words correctly with its latest feature. "Based on this, you will receive feedback on how you can improve next time". However, the image association is starting off simply by focusing on nouns. They are already available in Google's English dictionary and for all language translations.

Both of these features are helpful, although the pronunciation practice may need some work to get it up to snuff. "We hope these new features give you a creative, more effective way to practice, visualize, and remember new words".
