Fans Are Upset About Disney Plus Cropping Episodes Of 'The Simpsons'

The first 30 seasons of The Simpsons (for the most part) are available on Disney's new streaming platform, Disney Plus, but fans can only watch in widescreen - cutting out some of the beloved visual gags from the long-running animated Fox series, TV Guide reported.

Why the decision to change the aspect ratio has never been answered.

All other episodes from the show's 30-season run are available to watch.

A visual gag from season 4 episode "Duffless" which sees Duff Lite, Duff Dry, and ordinary Duff coming from the same Value-Added Tax of beer is essentially missing from the Disney Plus version.

Disney+ will host every single season of the show, along with The Simpsons Movie. Disney+ won't charge your credit card or PayPal account until after that seven-day trial period is through, so if you cancel your subscription before then, you'll get to enjoy a week's worth of Simpsons streaming for free.

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman is pushing to open up tourism in a bid to reduce the Kingdom's dependence on oil. The same video says Saudi Arabia defends tolerance and wants to become more attractive to foreigners, Reuters reports .

It is an attention to the fans of The Simpson that you don't have to spend any "d'oh".

Disney's new streaming service has removed the episode featuring Michael Jackson. That's not the case. The fact it's happened again on Disney Plus is really annoying, especially when the existing Simpsons World app allows people to stream earlier episodes of the show in 4:3. Even Simpsons writer Bill Oakley tweeted his disappointment with the setup.

Since the old episodes of the show were created in a 4:3 ratio the only way to make into a 16:9 widescreen is to crop it.

Star Wars has also received some tweaks on Disney Plus - Greedo now says "Maclunky" before being shot by Han Solo, a change apparently requested by George Lucas.

In the lead up to Disney Plus' launch, the company announced that certain films that have aged dismally would remain in Disney's vault, namely the highly racist Song of the South.
