WeWork begins search for a new CEO

T-Mobile chief executive John Legere

When you think of T-Mobile, you can't help but think of John Legere.

A representative for T-Mobile declined to comment.

Embattled workspace company WeWork is in talks to hire T-Mobile's "rock star" CEO, John Legere, to lead the company, the Wall Street Journal reports.

WeWork has started a search for a new chief executive following the departure of co-founder Adam Neumann, people familiar with the matter said on Monday, as the US office-sharing start-up seeks to reverse its widening losses.

Legere, 61, does not have a background in commercial real estate, but at T-Mobile he has been a disruptive force. He's the face of the company and it nearly feels like an understatement to say he has had a hand in helping T-Mobile become one of the country's most popular wireless carriers. Legere, known for guzzling Red Bull, running marathons, and his popular Slow Cooker Sunday cooking show, ranks No. 4 on Glassdoor's Top CEOs list.

Amazon, Woody Allen end legal battle
The film was distributed by Amazon Studios , which Allen sued after the company canceled a four-film contract a year ago . Allen has been accused of molesting Dylan Farrow , his adopted daughter, when she was seven years old in the early 1990s.

Jeffrey Sonnenfeld, a professor at the Yale University School of Management, previously said that Legere would be "the ideal guy for the job".

Following Neumann's departure, interim CEO duties at WeWork are now split among two veteran tech execs: Sebastian Gunningham, who became the company's vice chairman last year after an 11-year stint at Amazon, and Artie Minson, WeWork's CFO and former Time Warner Cable president.

A source familiar with the matter tells Fast Company Legere is just one of several potential candidates, and isn't necessarily the leading candidate. As of June, WeWork has accumulated $47 billion in lease obligations with only $3.4 billion coming in from its clients.

T-Mobile and Sprint are hoping to complete their merger soon.
