Haley Offended When Tillerson, Kelly Tried to Get Her to 'Undermine' Trump

US President Donald Trump arrives at Tuscaloosa Regional Airport in Tuscaloosa Alabama

In her upcoming memoir, With All Due Respect, set to be released on Tuesday, Haley detailed a disagreement she had with then-Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and then-White House Chief of Staff John Kelly during a meeting regarding her recommendation to withhold funding for a United Nations agency that backed Palestinians.

The Post said Tillerson didn't respond to a request for comment. Kelly and Tillerson both argued against the funding cuts, but Haley had support from Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner and other Middle East peace envoys.

"It should've been, 'Go tell the president what your differences are, and quit if you don't like what he's doing.' But to undermine a president is really a very unsafe thing".

Mr Tillerson, she added, told her people would die if the president were not restrained. And if their disagreements were strong enough, they should have quit.

According to the Washington Post, Haley writes in "With All Due Respect" that Tillerson and Kelly confided in her that Trump was unsuited for the office of the presidency and they were resisting his directives in the best interests of the country.

Kelly and Tillerson's arguments mirror those made by some of the witnesses Democrats called to testify in private before the House Intelligence Committee. "And instead of saying that to me, they should've been saying that to the president, not asking me to join them on their sidebar plan".

Labour pledge 'irreversible shift in power in favour of working people'
Mr McDonnell told an audience in Liverpool: 'Our aim as a Labour government is to achieve what past Labour governments have aspired to.

Mr Trump told them to work out their problems elsewhere.

Speaking with CBS News' Norah O'Donnell, Haley backed up Trump's attacks on Reps. She said she went privately to him with her concern that he had ceded authority to Russian President Vladimir Putin after the two leaders met in Helsinki in 2017, and objected to what she called Trump's "moral equivalence" in response to a white supremacist march in Charlottesville, Va., that summer that left a protester dead.

The Post reported that Haley said that during her time in the administration she felt obligated "to carry out [Trump's] wishes since he was the one elected by voters".

Though she said she dismissed Democratic efforts to impeach the President, she said she opposed Mr Trump's move to ask a foreign government for help in a political investigation, according to the Post.

"No, it's not appropriate", Haley told CBS.

"If you look in that transcript there is nothing in that transcript that warrants the death penalty for the President".
