Bolivia seems out of control as leaders continue to stoke street clashes

Police rescue Vinto mayor Patricia Arce Guzman on a motorcycle after people threw paint and dirt on her following a fire in Vinto's Town Hall in Quillacollo Bolivia on Nov. 6 2019

The protesters against the government had violently marched to the municipal office and violently forced the mayor to walk outside the street before setting the municipal building on fire.

A 20-year-old student died Wednesday in clashes between pro and anti-government protesters in the central city of Cochabamba, with a total of three dead since the October 20 elections.

The incident unfolded in the Bolivian town of Vinto, where government protesters blocked off a bridge.

Vinto Mayor Patricia Arce speaking to the media after being attacked in the street by a crowd that sprayed her with paint and cut her hair in Vinto, Bolivia, on Wednesday.

Mayor Arce belongs to the Movement to Socialism (MAS) party - the same party as President Morales.

Police eventually rescued the mayor and carried her away; she was pictured covered in red paint and dirt.

Protesters accused Mayor Arce of supporting the President by bus in an attempt to break the blockade they set and accused her of causing death, which was later confirmed.

'OK, boomer': New Zealand lawmaker shuts down older member who mocked age
Mr Muller, on the other hand, wondered how long Ms Swarbrick would remain a "millennial force for change". New Zealand legislator Christopher Bishop expressed "unwelcome and unawake opinions " in the tweet.

Awful images of the mayor show her covered in red paint, her hair cut, and her body covered in dirt.

In a video circulating social media, Ms Arce can be heard saying "I'm not afraid to tell my truth. This letter is not from Santa Cruz; it is from all Bolivia and it will be approved by all Bolivians, because we all want to build a country with democracy and freedom", Camacho said at a rally.

Bolivia has been rocked by deadly post-election violence over opposition claims that President Evo Morales rigged his re-election last month. "As I've said before, for this process of change, I will give my life". The vote is bitterly disputed.

The election campaign was marred by protests and slammed for a lack of transparency, although incumbent leader Evo Morales was ultimately returned to power. Morales was beating the eight other candidates at the time of the cutoff, but was also falling short of the percentage needed to avoid a runoff election.

The election observers of the Organization of American States (OAS) expressed their concern and the agency's review is ongoing.

Government critics, meanwhile, pointed the finger at supporters of Morales.

The government said on Friday that an audit of the contentious presidential election would likely be completed early next week, which could either back Morales' victory or throw open the door to a new vote.
