Bayern Munich sack Niko Kovac, linked to Ralf Rangnick

Niko Kovac on the touchline

Bayern expect to name a new coach by their next away game at Fortuna Duesseldorf on November 23, but Ajax coach Erik ten Hag and Paris Saint-Germain boss Thomas Tuchel have already ruled themselves out.

"It doesn't interest me because I'm the coach of PSG".

In a statement on the club's official website, Kovac himself said: "I think this is the right decision for the club at the moment".

In the interim, Bayern confirmed that assistant Hans-Dieter Flickwill take charge of the first team ahead of upcoming matches against Olympiacos and Borussia Dortmund.

"During this time, our team has won the championship, the DFB Pokal and the [DFL] Supercup".

"I want to talk to all the players and tell them again what they are capable of and what they do, and I want the team to take initiative and show their quality".

A 10-man Bayern was shredded by Eintracht after defender Jerome Boateng was sent off in the ninth minute, and leaving Kovac's future at the club hanging in the balance. "I would like to thank Niko Kovac on behalf of FC Bayern for his work, especially for winning the double last season".

Yemen rivals sign deal to end power struggle in south
Riyadh and Washington, however, blamed Iran for the attacks - a charge denied by Tehran. Saudi Arabia has been calling for a ceasefire.

He continued: "I know how this business works".

The German giants have endured an indifferent run of form during the opening weeks of the campaign and are now fourth in the Bundesliga, four points behind early season leaders Borussia Monchengladbach.

Legendary former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has finally shed light upon the possibility of joining Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich as their manager. "It's not for him any more", Desailly responded when asked of Wenger would be suited to the Bayern job.

The Polish goal-getter has scored 20 goals in 16 matches across all competitions this season - two of which came in Greece two weeks ago - and I fancy the on-fire forward to fill his boots against Olympiakos.

Bayern already have one foot in the knock-out phase as they now sit five-points clear of second-placed Tottenham, who they host in December having routed them 7-2 in north London last month.

Bayern have had a mixed bag of results so far this season.
