Pres. Trump: I stand with the great police officers of Minneapolis

US president Donald Trump is facing an impeachment enquiry

He said he was told about the ban September 27, one day after Trump announced Thursday's rally at Target Center, and after Mayor Jacob Frey's statement that Trump was unwelcome in the city.

The Trump campaign said that the Minneapolis "city government preemptively informed the Target Center that it would be responsible for $530,000 in security and other costs" related to a Trump rally, "more than 26 times the estimated security costs for a 2009 Target Center health care rally held by President Barack Obama".

On Monday, the Trump campaign released a letter from its lawyers to AEG, the management company that runs the Target Center in Minneapolis. "The cities dispatched police officers to secure Trump's events because they believe public safety required it - and the U.S. Secret Service asked for it".

President Trump's reelection campaign accused the liberal mayor of Minneapolis on Monday of trying to shut down his planned Thursday rally via an extortionate security bill.

The president caught an appearance by Kroll on Fox and Friends First on Tuesday morning, which highlighted their support for Trump and the t-shirts created for the rally. "72,000 ticket requests already". Trump and his campaign blamed Frey, a Democrat, for trying to force them to pay fees in advance of the rally because he's politically opposed to the president. The Campaign can not be in breach of an obligation it does not owe to AEG. Its law firm threatened to sue AEG if the rally doesn't proceed.

Rip Taylor, comic and TV host, dead at 84, publicist says
He appeared on The Gong Show, Hollywood Squares, The Joey Bishop Show, Match Game, The Merv Griffin Show and Password . Success begat more success, and Taylor ended up on tour with Judy Garland and Eleanor Powell in Las Vegas in 1966.

His campaign said the "bogus security charges" are an attempt to prevent Minneapolis residents from supporting Trump.

PolitiFact reached out to multiple city and police department officials as well as the Target Center and its manager, AEG Facilities, and did not receive any responses to our questions. But at a news conference Tuesday, he said the city will do all it can to guarantee a "safe and peaceful week", regardless of his political differences with Trump.

Your letter of this morning on behalf of AEG threatening to terminate the rental contract at the last minute seems to rest on a representation by the City of Minneapolis that, without any apparent backup support, that "additional security and related costs" associated with the rally will be $530,000. "He's shown that he's a very pro-law enforcement president".

There is no specific requirement within the provisions of the Federal Election Campaign Act or Federal Election Commission regulations for congressional or presidential campaign committees to pay for expenses incurred by a state or local government for campaign events, said Myles Martin, an FEC spokesman. The price for security was $20,000, according to the St. Paul Pioneer Press.
