Alec Baldwin, family scammed by bogus tour operator

"After all, tourists who don't want to visit Liberty Island itself can always hop on the Staten Island Ferry - where incredible views of Liberty Island can be enjoyed, entirely for free". Instead, "we are escorted to a shuttle bus", he writes, noting next their unexpected destination: "To New Jersey!"

Reviews show that the bus riders can spend over three hours on the journey, which never actually brings them to the Statue of Liberty in New York Harbor.

"I kid you not", Baldwin said in his social media post. "We paid. Then we read the tickets", the "30 Rock" actor raged on Instagram.

The city announced on Tuesday yet another crackdown on Battery Park ticket scammers - a day after Alec Baldwin publicly complained that he and his family were hustled into buying a bogus tour of the Statue of Liberty.

The Daily News reports the shuttle bus transports passengers from downtown NY to New Jersey, where they get on a boat that offers views of the Statue of Liberty.

The agency also wants to require ticket sellers to disclose on tickets that trips to the Statue of Liberty can not land on Ellis Island.

Australia defeat Sri Lanka in first women’s ODI
Udeshika Prabodhani was the pick of the bowlers picking up two wickets in her 9 overs giving away just 46 runs. Captain Meg Lanning won the toss and elected to bat first on a handsome day for cricket in Brisbane.

It's a bit of a wonder a long-timer New Yorker like Baldwin would fall for such a cliche tourist con job.

He added: 'Take the SI Ferry. "No one ever mentioned New F***ing Jersey!"

Shortly after, Hilaria Baldwin, his wife, posted a photo of the family on the deck of the Ferry.

Apparently, Baldwin is not alone in his dissatisfaction with the tour company.

Luckily, Baldwin and his family made the best of the bad situation by jumping on the Staten Island - which is free. "It's the best ride in NY", Baldwin said.

What Alec Baldwin thought were five tickets for the Statue of Liberty ended up being for a New Jersey-bound shuttle bus.
