Federal Bureau of Investigation officials Monday confirmed convicted murder Samuel Little is the most prolific known serial killer in USA history, after verifying 50 of the 93 killings he has confessed to committing.

Samuel Little, 79, has confessed to killing 93 victims - mostly women - between 1970 and 2005, the Federal Bureau of Investigation said Sunday.

"Little says he strangled his 93 victims between 1970 and 2005".

Several of the women he targeted were prostitutes and he often strangled women.

Therefore, many of his victims were originally deemed overdoses, or attributed to accidental or undetermined causes.

Little is serving multiple life sentences in California.

The FBI is now seeking the public's help to match his confessions with other murders around the nation.

Amazon Fire HD 10 updated with improved battery life and performance
Amazon is also expanding its FreeTime Unlimited service to the Fire TV stick, and eventually the Fire TV Edition smart TVs . Along with the new Kindle , Amazon has also announced another new gadget in the form of the refreshed Fire HD 10 .

The FBI has arrange a web site displaying his videotaped recollections of unidentified killings, alongside sketches - drawn by Little - of the folks he claims to have murdered.

"For many years, Samuel Little believed he would not be caught because he thought no one was accounting for his victims", ViCAP Crime Analyst Christie Palazzolo says in a detailed, multi-media news release.

The agency said that he killed in Arizona, Arkansas, California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, Nevada, New Mexico, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas.

Eventually, Little confessed to killing about 90 people. If the claim is true, he would be the worst serial killer in USA history.

He was jailed for life in 2014 after being convicted of three murders.

The FBI has used this strategy before, releasing 16 victim portraits Little drew in February. Once Little was in custody, the Los Angeles Police Department matched Little's DNA to victims in three unsolved homicides from 1987 and 1989.

The statement included more information coming from Little himself in a taped interview detailing the still unmatched murder in Little Rock he said took place between 1992 and 1994.
