2nd T20I: Pakistan confident to level series against Sri Lanka today

Pakistani batsman Umar Akmal in action

Soldiers escort coaster buses carrying Pakistan and Sri Lanka's cricket teams as they arrive at the Gaddafi Cricket Stadium in Lahore.

The recalled Umar Akmal fell for a golden duck for the second successive match while Ahmed Shehzad could score only 13 before both fell to Hasaranga's brilliance inside the first 10 overs.

Pakistan and Sri Lanka are all set to lock horns against each other in 2nd Twenty20 global (T20I) of the series on Monday (today) at the Gaddafi Stadium Lahore (GSL) as the Green Shirts are confident to level to three-match series.

Sri Lanka's Bhanuka Rajapaksa plays a shot during the second Twenty20 global cricket match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka at the Gaddafi Cricket Stadium in Lahore on October 7.

Pakistan's poor ground fielding also let the team down as Rajapaksa and Jayasuriya both survived close run-out chances early in their innings.

After a Biting Episode, China Wipes South Park Off Internet
A representative for South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker did not immediately return Rolling Stone's request for comment.

The hosts, who won the preceding one-day global series in Karachi 2-0, were outplayed by visitors in all departments in the first T20I on Saturday. "It takes time for someone who hasn't played worldwide cricket for so long", Misbah-ul-Haq said.

The third and final match will be played at the same venue on Wednesday. "Credit to them, they kept it tight with the ball and in the field in the middle overs", Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed said ahead of the second match. Pakistan, who have never lost a T20 series in six attempts to Sri Lanka, brought in paceman Wahab Riaz and opener Fakhar Zaman in place of Iftikhar Ahmed and Faheem Ashraf.

Earlier, Rajapaksa set the tone for Sri Lanka after the visitors won the toss and opted to bat. Rajapaksa added 94 for the third wicket with Shehan Jayasuriya (34 off 28 balls) as they cut loose against some short bowling from the Pakistani bowlers.

Rajapaksa's half-century, described by captain Shanaka as a "masterclass", put Pakistan's bowlers under pressure as leg-spinner Shadab Khan conceded 38 runs before he had the left-hander caught in the deep in the 17th over.
