Three Australians detained in Iran

What appears to be the Iranian oil tanker Adrian Darya 1 off the coast of Tartus Syria

It is believed the woman has been sentenced to 10 years in jail, though her alleged offence is not yet known.

Whereas there don't appear to be any proper figures on the sequence of detainees with British hyperlinks being held in Iran, these are no longer decrease than about a of those who're understood to be incarcerated as segment of Iran's "hostage diplomacy".

It is thought that both women are now being kept at Evin prison in Tehran, the same jail where British-Iranian mother Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe has been held on spying charges since 2016.

Australia's Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade said it was providing consular assistance to the families of all three.

The Australian government said on Wednesday that three of its citizens had been detained in Iran, adding that it was helping the families of the three but giving no further details.

The statements came after Australian and British media reported that two British-Australian women and the Australian boyfriend of one of them had been behind bars in Iran for some time.

Iran has reportedly detained two more twin British nationals amid rising tensions between London and Tehran. "Due to our privacy obligations, we will not comment further", a spokesperson said.

Iranian officials said on Sunday that the supertanker had unloaded its oil with satellite images released on the same day showing the vessel just outside of the Syrian port of Tartus.

Florida teen accused of stealing parents' money to have them whacked
The teen suspect allegedly told detectives she spent the remaining $100 stolend from her parents on a small quantity of cocaine . Hatcher's parents were not injured and told investigators they wanted to press charges against their daughter.

The newspaper also reported that the academic is in solitary confinement after she was sentenced to ten years in prison for an unknown offence.

Australia's latest travel advice for Iran is to "reconsider your need to travel", due to "the risk that foreigners, including Australians, could be arbitrarily detained or arrested", according to the Smartraveller website which was updated on Monday.

The Foreign Office has warned dual Iranian citizens not to travel to Iran.

Located in northern part of capital, Evin prison is notable for keeping political prisoners, dissidents and Iranians with dual nationality accused of plotting against the government.

The news of the arrests comes as tensions between the United Kingdom and Iran grow deeper.

The arrests come after Australia announced last month it would join the U.S. and Britain in deploying warships to the Strait of Hormuz.

Tensions have been high between Iran and Britain since July after British forces seized an Iranian oil tanker, reportedly claiming that it was on its way to Syria.
