Nobody seems to know if India’s Moon lander survived its crash landing

Chandrayaan-2

ISRO is still conducting investigations about what went wrong with the Vikram lander but is relieved to know where it is.

In an internal meeting, ISRO Chairman K. Sivan is said to have advised teams working on the lander to move on to their next projects.

The space agency has said that "all possible efforts are being made to establish communication" with the Vikram lander.

Google Pixel 4: Why the next Google flagship is worth waiting for
We have had a couple of leaks of the Pixel 4 this month, and we are getting a full-blown look at the Pixel 4 XL this week. An Android Code was also discovered to have some references to a 90Hz display but have since been deleted.

The lander will then separate from the orbiter and use rocket fuel to brake as it attempts India's first moon landing on a relatively flat surface between two craters in the south polar region on September 7 - an area where no moon landing has been attempted before. ISRO chief K Sivan mentioned that Chandrayaan 2's orbiter module has clicked a thermal image of the lander.

There will be three more orbit manoeuvres before the lander's separation from the Orbiter on September 2 and eventual soft landing in the south polar region of the Moon, planned on September 7. The Lander, on the opposite hand, did no longer do a steady touchdown and subsequently the scientists misplaced contact with it. Thereafter, the solar panels will not be able to energise and it will be too cold for lander Vikram to operate. We've got bounced support one more time and gone on to get cling of spectacular things. There is also the probability that the impact shock may have damaged the lander. Years and years of planning had put India in the flawless position to claim a spot on the short list of countries to achieve a soft landing on the Moon, but that all changed just moments before the spacecraft was destined to land. For years, India has had its sights set on joining the USA, the Soviet Union, and China in the elite group of nations that have landed on the Moon.

The prime minister returned to the ISRO center in Bangalore on Saturday morning, after a sleepless night when the nation watched what was to be India's first ever Moon landing.
